Yuanhuo Saimoe Tournament (Chinese: 元火最萌大会)[note 1], also called Original Fire Moe, is an annual online character popularity tournament organized by members of Yuanhuo Comic Club, a student association of animation and comics enthusiasts in Peking University (PKU). The tournament series began in 2020, while the latest edition happened in 2022.

The Yuanhuo Comic Club (Chinese: 元火动漫社[note 2]), also called Original Fire Comic Club, is Peking University's sole student association dedicated to ACGN culture: animation, comics, games, and light novels. It was founded on 1998 October 28th, and has since grown into one of the most prominent and well-organized clubs in the university. Some of its activities include holding cosplay conventions, organizing lectures and workshops about comics and animations, and hosting the club's annual "Anniversary Party" - one of the most popular events inside the PKU campus.[1]
The student club's name derives from the idea of a popular Chinese saying " 星火燎原 "[note 3], which usually translates to "a single spark can start a prairie fire".[1][2]
In this wiki's context however, the Yuanhuo Comic Club is known for organizing their own annual character tournament where its members vote for their favorite anime girl and guy, not unlike typical saimoe tournaments such as the International Saimoe League (ISML). In fact, Yuanhuo Moe appears to be clearly inspired by ISML — in an example of the latter's extensive Chinese voter influence — since the inaugural 2020 edition uses visuals which clearly resemble ISML's poster design. Voting is conducted through Chinese social messaging app WeChat and online questionnaires.[citation needed] Thus, voter turnout is usually limited to the low hundreds (100 ~ 300), and voters are restricted to Peking University students, and possibly their friends and alumni. The results are released in online Post Bars such as the ISML Tieba forum.

- Top 8 characters will be seeded to 8 groups in the bracket stage. If there are more than 8 characters because of ties, they will play each other for the right to be seeded.
- All characters tied for the final spots of the 32-man bracket will play each other
