Rider is a supporting character in the light novel and 2011 anime Fate/Zero. He appears as a large, muscular, red-haired male Servant who is under the command of Waver Velvet. The pair are participants in the story's "Fourth Holy Grail War". Rider's true identity is revealed as Iskandar, more famously known as the historical Macedonian king and general Alexander the Great. He is often referred in the fandom by his true name to differentiate him from Fate/stay night's Rider.
Rider is a well-received character in r/anime's bracket contests and a consistent representative of the massive Fate franchise. His best result is a semi-final appearance in the first Best Character contest.
