Mikasa Ackerman is one of the main protagonists of Hajime Isayama's manga series Attack on Titan, and its anime adaptation by Wit Studio.

Her performances in the saimoe contest have generally been lackluster, as "Saimoe" contests usually have a majority East Asian voting demographic, who are generally biased towards light novel series and biased against female characters from shonen manga series that is not romance / slice-of-life.

However, the only exception would be China's very own Bilibili Moe, where Mikasa performs better beacuse of Attack on Titan's massive popularity. As one of the main characters, she is their foremost female representative, having appeared in three editions of the tournament. She got her big break in the 2017 edition (where the anime's Season 2 aired), reaching the quarter-finals.

Mikasa is a constant fixture in the r/anime subreddit contests owing to the show's popularity with the Western-majority voting demographic. She cultivated a middle-tier prescence for much of her Best Girl Contest career, performing decently well, but usually falling in the middle rounds because of the redditors' complaints about her being shoehorned in the anime at every possible oppotunity. She is also known in the anime for her tendency to say Eren's name, which is often ridiculed as "Ereh"..

Mikasa shares a "rivalry" with fellow mid-tier Eru Chitanda, with them inexplicably meeting three times; Mikasa winning BG1 and losing BG3 and BG4. They would've met four times if Chitanda made it to the quarterfinals of BG6.

Mikasa's bigger break would come in Best Girl 6, held in June 2019, a time where Attack on Titan season 3 Part 2 was airing. Suddenly all of the other ~~Titans~~ anime girls quake in fear of the high-flying Mikasa tearing their tournament hopes apart, boosted by the recency of her show's airing time. The result? Ninth seed, a fourth-place finish, and a fuckton of salt spilled in the threads of r/anime.

Her fourth-place finish in Best Girl 6, where she lost to the #4 seed and eventual champion Asuna Yuuki in the semis and the losing against #2 seed Aqua in the third-place match, is currently her best-ever finish in any of the major tournaments she has ever placed in.
