Katsuki Bakugo is the deuteragonist of Kouhei Horikoshi's manga and anime series My Hero Academia. He is a brash and aggressive student of Class 1-A with the power to create explosions from detonating his nitroglycerin-containing sweat. Bakugo serves as the rival of Izuku Midoriya, whom he bullied in his childhood because of the latter's lack of quirks; both guys also idolized All Might, the number one ranked professional hero.
The self-proclaimed "King Explosion Murder" is one of the most popular characters in the MHA fandom, and is a very common subject of shipping, particularly towards Midoriya, Kirishima, and Uraraka. He's also a popular contestant in r/anime brackets and formerly in the International Saimoe League, but his antagonistic nature also makes him controversial, which prevents him from making it deep compared to his contemporaries.
