The inaugural edition of Anizone's Korea Best Moe Tournament ran from 2006 September to October 16. It was won by Suiseiseki from Rozen Maiden, defeating Eri Sawachika from School Rumble in the final match.

Format[]

Character Eligibility

  • Character must appear in an anime series that aired between 2005 July 01 - 2006 June 30.
  • Character must be female
  • Character can be non-human, but must look like a female and be capable of making decisions.
  • Fan-made productions are not allowed.
  • Hentai (18+ anime) are not allowed.
  • A code generator must be downloaded and used to log into tournament page in order to vote.


Preliminaries - vote 1 character per group

  • Round 1: 1000+ characters are split into 49 groups
    • Top 4 advance to Round 3
    • Remaining characters will play in Round 2
  • Round 2: All characters who did not advance are split into 15 groups
    • Top 4 advance to Round 3
    • Remaining characters are eliminated
  • Round 3: 256 characters (190+56) are split into 16 groups
    • Top 4 qualify for Main Event
    • Remaining characters will play in Round 4
  • Round 4: 192 characters are split into 16 groups
    • Top 4 qualify for Main Event
    • Remaining characters are eliminated


Main Event

  • Round of 128: 2006 ?? - ??
    • 128 players, split into 32 groups of 4
    • Vote 1 character per group
    • Top 2 advance to Bracket stage
  • Bracket Stage: 2006 August 20 - October 14
    • 64 players
    • 1v1 Single-elimination
    • All winners are randomly re-drawn after each round
    • For ease of viewing, the Saimoe Wiki will display all of the matches in bracket form after the tournament has concluded.


Tie-breakers

    • In the event of a tie, all winners and tied characters will be arranged by votes earned on a particular round; the contestant with the least amount of votes is eliminated.[dubious-discuss]
    • If the result is still tied, then the one with the least amount of votes in the previous round among tied characters is eliminated.

  1. Since Souju Shirogane vs Vita ended in a tie, and both have the lowest votes out of all Top 64 Round winners (268), the tiebreaker went to their votes in the previous round: Vita had more votes and will advance over Souju.
  2. 2.0 2.1 2.2 Since Suiseiseki vs Shana ended tied in the Top 32 round (420-420), Elis Housen is eliminated because she had the fewest votes among the round winners (299). Suiseiseki will then replace Elis in the bracket.
