Hatsune Miku is a Vocaloid software voicebank developed by Crypton Future Media. Her official moe anthropomorphism is a 16-year old Japanese idol with long turquoise hair styled in twin-tails. As a personification, Miku has been featured in a wide variety of media such as anime, manga, video games, and even as a virtual idol in real concerts. She is considered a pop culture icon.

Miku has participated in 2channel's Anime Saimoe Tournament and Anizone's Best Moe Tournament due to a cameo appearance in second season of the anime Sayonara, Zetsubou Sensei. In ISML 2011 she won the very first jewelry exhibition award (aquamarine bracelet), but is otherwise ineligible for its main tournament because of her multimedia origins. In the imageboard website 4chan, Miku competed in the Queen of /v/ 2019 contest as the title character of the rhythm game series Hatsune Miku: Project Diva, reaching the round of 16 in that year. However, she was disallowed in the following Queen of /v/ edition.
