Konjiki no Yami , literally translated as Golden Darkness in English and commonly referred simply as Yami , is a character from To Love Ru , a manga and anime series written by Saki Hasemi and illustrated by Kentaro Yabuki. She is also the central namesake character in its sequel manga To Love Ru: Darkness .
First appearing on TV in 2008, Yami is best known in this wiki for having the most appearances in the International Saimoe League out of the cast, debuting in the 2009 edition as the only Toraburu representative, and making nine straight appearances overall. Despite this, the blonde assassin has never made it into the postseason -- having came the closest in 2013 and 2014 where she placed 17th in the Stella division -- and has never won an ISML award unlike her contemporaries Mikan and Momo , who made later debuts in the tournament.
Outside of ISML, the Golden Darkness appeared as a bottom-feeding contestant in six editions of the Japanese 2channel saimoe from 2008 until its demise in 2014 thanks to the anime's multiple seasons and OVAs being released during that time.
Yami once reached the round of 16 in Korea's Anizone saimoe in 2008 and even won her match against Nagisa Furukawa , 3183 - 2622. However, a last-16 match between Aria's Akari Mizunashi and Clannad's Tomoyo Sakagami ended in a tie with 5183 votes each; with no way to break the tie, the organizers decided to arrange the round winners by votes received. Unfortunately for Yami, she got the fewest votes among the winners, eliminating her from the tournament.

Konjiko no Yami ("Golden Darkness") is an extraterrestrial assassin whose abilities allow her to transform her body parts into a variety of objects, notably weapons used in her assassinations. She is very closed and softspoken, opening herself very slowly even after being accepted by the Yuuki family. She is very powerful in battle, easily defeating Lala's bodyguard Zastin and fighting on par with Lala's several inventions. Her greatest dislike is "ecchi" or perverted people, whom she holds the utmost hatred for, not hesitating to punish anyone she deems immoral.
Our protagonist Rito Yuuki first meets her in the streets on what seemed to be an ordinary day. Thinking that she looked lonely, he offered her some taiyaki, which she promptly enjoys. However, Rito later finds out that she is involved in a plot by one of Lala's arranged suitors to kill him, though she has a change of heart after learning that she was manipulated by her contractor, who claimed that Rito was a pervert. She promptly dispatches him and is taken in by Rito and given the nickname "Yami" by Lala, which is soon used by most of the cast.
