Erwin Smith is a major supporting character from the manga and anime series Attack on Titan.
Erwin is best known for his presence in r/anime tournaments, where supporting characters can make it deep as long as they are from shows highly popular on the subreddit. He is widely beloved by fans for his inspiring courage and excellent leadership qualities. However, the details behind his appeal can't be explained without spoiling major parts of the story since Attack on Titan, like other mainstream popular series, is known for its plot twists and killing off important characters.
The commander made his strides in 2020 by reaching the round of 16 in Best Guy 6. One year later, he reached the final four in Best Character 5 and the quarter-finals in Best Guy 7 despite not appearing at all in AoT's fourth season. He also snagged the top seed in 2022's Best Guy 8.
