Echidna is a character from Tappei Nagatsuki's web novel, light novel, and anime series Re:Zero. The Witch of Greed first appeared in the light novel's fourth story arc, and is heavily featured as a primary character in the second anime season which adapts that particular arc. She is voiced by Maaya Sakamoto, a high-profile voice actress.
Echidna was a prominent seasonal contestant in r/anime and ISML. She placed second in r/anime's summer contest behind Kanokari's Chizuru, and third in the ISML counterpart after losing to Oregairu's Komachi in the final consolation match. She returned in the 2021 Winter seasonal league after appearing in the back half of the anime's second season.
The witch will be eligible for Best Girl 9.
