Character Battle X was the 10th character battle hosted by video game website GameFAQs, and the first such tournament after 5 years. The main event lasted from 2018 October 19 until December 14.

This edition saw the return of the classic 1 vs 1 single-elimination format with 128 contestants split into eight 16-player divisions. However, eight members of the "Noble Nine" were excluded from this bracket, with Sephiroth being the only one left out. Instead, they will be automatically seeded into the newly-introduced Legends Stage, where they will meet the eight division winners in a special double-elimination bracket to decide, once again, the most popular character on GameFAQs. Link defeated Cloud Strife in their third Grand Finals meeting, earning him a record-fifth championship.

Besides the obvious Link > Cloud final, the tournament was highlighted by Zelda's incredible Legends Stage run resulting from her appearance in Breath of the Wild, as she defeated three Noble Niners in the upper bracket, before losing to the eventual top two finalists in consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, the defending champion Draven was completely blown out of the first round by Okami Amaterasu, suffering the tournament's most lopsided defeat in the process. This is largely a repsonse to his controversial victory in the previous Character Battle where he was carried by rallying voters from /r/leagueoflegends. To add insult to injury, Draven also garnered the fewest votes in the entire tournament, and arguably one of the lowest in the entire history of GameFAQs.

Unlike most brackets in this wiki, the seed order in GameFAQs contests is different: 1-8-5-4 3-6-7-2. Since the site schedules each bracket's matches in that order, this wiki will also display the brackets in that order instead.
