Saimoe Wiki

In the wiki's context, Rie Kugimiya is synonymous with the tsundere archetype, as many of her famous roles involve female love interests who display animosity towards the main character, but eventually soften up and develop romantic feelings to them. Her voice is one of the essential traits of an archetype defined by pop culture wiki TVTropes as "Shana Clones".

Kugimiya's characters were one of the strongest groups in 2channel's Anime Saimoe Tournament during the 2000's, headed by the so-called "Four Tsundere Wonders" of Shana, Louise, Taiga, and Nagi. All four of them have reached the final stages of the tournament, with Taiga winning the coveted title in her first Saimoe appearance in 2009.

On the other hand, Kugimiya's best known male role is Alphonse Elric, the younger brother of the eponymous MC of Fullmetal Alchemist.

Rie also starred as a fictionalized version of herself in Sore ga Seiyuu!, an anime about Japanese voice actors. Incidentally, this character was entered in the Chinese Bilibili Moe 2015, and made it to the tournament's main stages alongside fellow cast member Hiroshi Kamiya.
