Best Guy 6: Salt Psycho 100! was an r/anime character tournament held in the AnimeBracket voting website and was hosted by moderator ShaKing807. Named after the show of previous Best Guy winner Shigeo Kageyama, the tournament ran from 2020 February to March 01 and ended with Levi Ackerman winning the final match over Saitama. This is also the first (and so far, only) Best Guy to have a third-place match after it was requested by some users; the match was won by perennial contender Edward Elric over a season 4-boosted All Might.

The final was considered an unexpected one by several users; Levi laid low behind more prominent characters Reigen, Kazuma, and Edward until the last two rounds, while Saitama had to beat the latter two guys in quick succession to get to the finals for the first time, which is no easy feat considering he had been "cursed" with the top seed two times in the past.

Mumen Rider from One Punch Man surprised the tournament by getting the first seed, but given his supporting character status, his place in the tournament didn't last very long as he was eliminated in round 4 by Jotaro Kujo. This earned him the dubious honour of being the worst-performing top seed in r/anime history.

This is Edward's last appearance in a Best Guy tournament, as he finally became an r/anime champion after winning Best Character 5 nearly ten months later, making him permanently ineligible for future editions.

Rules & Tournament Format

All voting rounds begin and end at 18:00 Eastern Time (UTC-5). (15:00 Pacific, 23:00 UTC, 07:00 Beijing)

Voting policy

• You must register or login to a reddit account in order to vote.
• Accounts must be at least 2 months old.
• NO CROSSPOSTING / BRIGADING / LINKING the contest to other subreddits.

Nomination

• Lasts 2 days
• Enter name, series, image URL address
• Image links must come from MyAnimeList or Anilist, otherwise the nomination will be deleted
• Males only. Sexless characters and unknown genders are allowed.
• Characters who have made their animated debut in 2018 Spring or later are NOT allowed
• Best Guy champions and Best Character winners are also NOT allowed.
• Check the entrants list first to prevent repeat nominations

Eliminations

• Voters will choose the characters they want to participate in the main bracket stage.
• All nominees are divided into 4-6 groups. (depending on nominees)
• Each group lasts 1 day
• Approval voting - Vote whoever you like; there is no limit.
• 512 players with the highest adjusted votes will advance to the main bracket.
• Series Limit: maximum of 5 characters per series.

Main Bracket

• 512 players, single-elimination
• Seeded by results in the previous stage
• Rounds 1-6 are split into 4 groups per round; each group lasts one day. Thus, each round lasts 4 days.
• Quarter-finals and beyond will last one day each
• A consolation match for third-place, if available, will be held in a separate website.
• If a match is tied, the higher-seeded contestant wins.
