The Animefans Saimoe Tournament (动漫FANS最萌) is an online popularity contest. Held annually in spring and summer on bbs.dm123.cn since 2008.
Tournament format
The format changed frequently:
- 2008: 16 competitors
- 2009: extended to 32 competitors
- 2010: extended to 64 competitors
- 2012: Round of 96 introduced (2 of 3 characters advance per match), single-elimantion Round of 16 replaced by 4 round robin tournaments (2 of 4 characters advance per group)
- 2013: Round of 144 introduced (2 of 3 characters advance per match), former champions are excluded
Badge system
Introduced in 2012. 16 top vote earners of the preliminary round become badge candidates. These titles can be won or lost until Round of 16.
Fan-work bonus vote
Introduced in 2011. Fan work like videos, images or articles can provide additional votes.
Results
The final 3 rounds of the tournament features the Final Eight of the tournament.
Trivia
- Shana has also won the Korean Super Best Moe Tournament in 2007.
- Shana's participation in 2012 was the last and most successful of any former champion.
- Saber is the most successful character: Champion in 2012, Runner-up in 2008, Semifinalist in 2010 and Quartefinalist in 2011.
