AnimeClick is an Italian website dedicated to covering topics about anime, manga, and Japanese dramas, as well as providing a database about these types of media. It is similar to popular websites MyAnimeList and AniList. AnimeClick is currently managed by the non-profit group Associazione NewType Media, which also owns the video game-focused sister website GamerClick.

Inspired by the prevalence of saimoe tournaments in online anime fandoms worldwide, the AnimeClick community decided to hold their own version of saimoe where Italian fans could vote on which anime girl is the "most moe" or the "sexiest". The earliest known tournament occurred in early 2014 when Zelgadis, a staff member and programmer, hosted Saimoe AnimeClick. The community's enthusiastic reception on that tournament inspired further events on the website, such as the Miss Sexy Anime contest headed by Swordman, a fellow AnimeClick staff member. Both Zelgadis and Swordman are still active in organizing their respective AnimeClick tournaments as of 2022.

Saimoe AnimeClick and its spiritual successor Best Waifu / Husbando are recognized by several users who tally various saimoe tournament victories across the Internet, mainly for the purposes of Ten-Win Club.

Tournaments[]

Saimoe AnimeClick - the original contest made as the Italian counterpart to contests such as Japan's 2channel Saimoe and Korea's Anizone Saimoe. It is organized by Zelgadis since its inception.
